What we need
  • Minor updates to Organization’s existing website (e.g. adding new copy and/or images, customizing styles/themes, basic layout revising, etc.)
  • Training for Organization staff on how to make minor updates going forward (if applicable)
Additional details

We are in the process of updating our website (WordPress) and need a good job posting plug-in. We would want to approve jobs to avoid allowing posts we do not support to just show up. We would also want to get an email letting up know when a job has been posted. Finally, some sort of captcha would be good so we are not spammed.

The jobs are posted free for the non-profit legal services community in New York State.

  • We have an in-house Linux server; so the plug-in could be something other than Wordpress

  • Volunteer Manager provides list of required updates to make (including sharing content or image assets, as necessary)
  • Both parties review our pro-tips for Organizations and Volunteers to ensure the project is set up for success

Milestone 1: Kick-Off Meeting
  • Volunteer Manager and Professional connect to discuss requested updates, and agree on a project timeline
  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with credentials to access the website admin portal

Milestone 2: Review Updates
  • Professional makes the requested updates to the website (if available, the changes should be made in a test or development environment first)
  • Volunteer Manager reviews each update, and reports any remaining issues to the Professional

Milestone 3: Implementation of Updates
  • Professional implements updates to the live website
  • Professional troubleshoots any issues that may arise immediately after implementing changes on the live site

Milestone 4: Training (Optional)
  • If requested, Professional trains up to 3 team members on how to update site and resolve minor issues going forward

To assure that low-income people receive the full range of civil legal services including "non-traditional" legal assistance like policy advocacy and legal education. The Center also serves as a statewide technology support center for legal services programs. Our vision and mission with respect to our technology work is to help legal services offices statewide use technology in a cost effective manner to better serve their clients in this time of diminishing resources.
